Eat and Play with the Famous Chicken Rice Ball in Malacca, Malaysia

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Some people will mistaken it as a fish ball but in actual fact, that is a rice ball! The rice is prepared with chicken stock and their secret recipe. Top it up with chicken meat and vegetables makes this a hearty meal.

Normal price for one rice ball is RM0.20. If you happen to pay more than that, better ask if you are over charge due to inflation! For a girl’s appetite, 5-6 rice balls will be enough. For guy maybe up to 12 or even more!

Again!! this is Rice ball..not Fish ball

Again!! this is Rice ball..not Fish ball. Can you imagine how soft is it?

Don’t miss out Baba Cendol at Jonker street and other great peranakan food in Malacca

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Why they call it as BABA cendol and not the usual name cendol? Because it is made by BABA and NYONYA? I think so. hehe. And Baba cendol uses thick gooey palm sugar (Gula Melaka) and coconut milk!! Price to enjoy this dessert? Only costs RM1.70! Other then Baba cendol, you can also order durian cendol and mango cendol too.

For main course, you can order the Baba Nyonya Laksa and curry mee there. All are super yummy!! (Drooling) ^_^

Must Eat in Malacca, Satay Steamboat – Ong Kim Wee Satay Celup

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

One of my favourite food since i was a kid!!

Can you imagine you are having steamboat with the satay sauce instead of soup?

There is no grill satay meat in this verison of Satay in Malacca. To eat, cook the food on the stick inside the satay sauce. Seafood, meat, vegetable, tofu, bean curb and more for you to cook. BanLeeSiang(万里香) at Ong Kim Wee street is said to be teh first restaurant to sell Satay Celup. Most of the local malaccan prefer to have satay celup there. The price range from 50-60cents per stick depending on which type of food you take.

Note: The sauce in the pot will not be change after the previous customer leaves. The shop workers will only refill the satay sauce for the next customer!

Ban Lee Siang is the most prefered satay celup restaurant in Malacca

Eat till you drop around Bukit Bintang at Jalan Alor, a food paradise in Kuala lumpur

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Jalan Alor is one of the MUST go area to grab good local food in KL!! Hey, everywhere we recommend in this blog is must go.. hehe. Jalan Alor is a short walk away from those shopping malls in Bukit Bintang.  It is a normal street in the day time but it becomes a food paradise when the sun sets. All the food stalls are park all along the street and table and chairs are arranged nicely along the street.

You might be scare away by those hawkers when they try to persuade you to stop and eat their stalls. Some workers’ attitude might not be nice so you can just point your ?? finger at them or smile and walk away. Basically the menus of the foods stalls in that particular shop are on a same food menu. You can simply order the food from their ‘waiter’ base on the menu and they will help you to order whatever food from those stalls accordingly. No service charge required! hehe..

Nice food in Malaysia – famous chilli pan mee in KL, Kin Kin Restaurant (建記辣椒板麵)

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

Have you heard about the Famous Kin Kin Dry chili pan mee in KL?

It is quite special with the thick round noodles with top of ikan bilis and minced pork plus a half-cooked egg!!! and a super nice meatball soup!!!(Saliva drooling);p The claim of fame for Kin Kin Pan Mee is the chili paste. You are free to add as much as you can endure with the noodle.

Kin Kin Restaurant is located along off Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman near Chow Kit. It is actually opposite the Tunes Hotel and nearby the Sogo.

Something to take note is, the bosses are not that friendly.. You might hearing them shouting at each other or scolding people in the shop. Their attitude and service are terribly bad!!

Be prepared for the long Q and sharing table with strangers! hehe..^_^

美食天堂 – 六合觀光夜市, Liu He Night market, Kaohsiung

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

My favorite night market for food in Taiwan. There are a huge variety of food for everyone! See all our pictures below and those are just a fraction of what you will find at Liu He Night Market!

What to eat in Vietnam? Introducting Bun Bo Hue 3A3 Restaurant

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Bun bo = Beef noodle soup. Bun Bo Hue is a beef noodle soup consisting of thick bun (vermicelli noodles), thin cuts of beef, a couple of varieties of spamsticks dressed up in a blindin’ sweet meat-thick broth.

Today we are not going to blog about Bun Bo. We had enough of noodle soup for the day at another restaurant.

Instead we are going to show you some local Vietnamese snacks and beers for our dinner in Bun Bo Hue 3A3 Restaurant. They serve Hue-style food. Each order comes with a hedgerow side dish and a plate of the meanest red chillies in Vietnam and most of the dishes are accompanied with sauces specific to the dish.

See what had in this restaurant:

1. A bottle of the Famous 333 bia or Saigon Beer, it costs about 10,000 VND.
