From Phuket airport, here are the various type of transport available for you to get to your hotel.
- Public taxi
The taxi stand can be found just outside the airport. Once you exit the airport, turn right and walk to the end. The taxi colors are red and yellow. Do insist that you the driver turns on his meter before you board the taxi. It cost about 500+ Thai baht to Patong beach. - Airport Buses
Taking the airport buses is the cheapest if you have time to spare. Do check if the bus goes to the area near your hotel

- Minivans
Cost about 150baht to your hotel but they may bring you to a travel agent who will sell you hotel or tour packages. Depending on your luck, you maybe the 1st to reach your hotel depending on the route the driver takes or you may be the last as they drop off all other passengers at hotels along the way. - Car rental
Getting around Phuket will be costly if you are on a free and easy tour. There are no buses or trains but only taxis to bring you to your favourite tourist spot. Renting a car is your best option if you want to zoom around Phuket. It cost about 1300baht a day to rent a car and the price goes lower if you rent for a longer period. The rental company can also deliver and collect your car at your hotel for a small fee. You will need to pay for your petrol and for a start, they will provide you a full tank of petrol. I tried David Car Rental as well as Budget Car Rental
It is easy to drive in Phuket with a map. Have fun and drive carefully.

- Hotel transport
Book your transport from the hotel in advance. When you arrive at the airport, there will be someone
holding a card with your name on it to welcome you.
How long does it take from Phuket Airport to Patong or Karon beach? It will take about 40 minutes.
We hope this transport guide will help you to plan for a nice holiday in Phuket
