Taiwan holiday, Day 2 to Kaohsiung

2nd day in Taiwan and full of energy! Woke up at 9am and here is the view from our hotel room.

A lovely day and we are leaving Taichung after lunch. Why so soon? The only plan we had in Taichung was to visit Fengjia night market. We heard of nice historical places in Taichung but our focus this trip is eat and shopping. We visit other places for our next trip to Taiwan.

Shopping at Tiger City: 10am to 12pm

This shopping mall looks rather huge from outside but is actually not that big. There are about 8 floors. We found a Adidas and Nike shop who are running a sale promotion! HolidayBoyBoy Bought 2 Nike polo top at about NT700 each.

At the same time, there were some charity carwash going on outside the mall. Those students were having a good time washing the cars! Shouting and singing while washing…..sorry guys, no bikini car wash girls :p

High Speed railway: 1pm to 2pm (From Taishung Station – ZuoYing Station) - NT670 each

I really like the High Speed railway. The trains are very clean. The journey was also very quiet although the train was traveling like close to 300km per hour!

HSR to Kaoshiung

We had this Yuan Yang milk tea (NT22) and chicken floss rice wrap with seaweed (NT30) from their ‘SEVEN’ (7-11) for lunch in HSR.

Haha..Unbelievable it’s really tasty..beats all the food in Singapore 7-11!!!! :p So you must surely try it!

On the way to our hotel, around: 2pm to 3pm

We took the Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit(KMRT) to Mei Li Dao Station and walk less than 5 minutes to Kindness Hotel! （康桥商旅- 六合夜市馆）Our hotel is just about opposite of Liouhe Night Market, 六合夜市. Great! Another good job by HolidayGirlGirl to choose this hotel.

康桥商旅 has many branches like 高雄新崛江館,高雄光華館 ,高雄建國館, 國軍英雄館, 高雄三多館, 高雄站前雄中館, 城市之星漢神館. But we chose 六合夜市馆 because it is the nearest to KMRT station and the Liuhe night market!!

We heard of the rooftop bar at Han Xuan hotel(寒軒大飯店) but when we reach there, the front office told us that the place is now close and only available for functions. arrgh!!! waste time.  Then we also passed by 兴中夜市which is also almost closed by then.

I remembered there was this disco call Dreams, so we took a cab there. But it was Saturday night and the place was so crowded! I am not going to queue!

In the end, we decided to go back hotel to rest. So we took a taxi back. Along the way, we asked the taxi driver about the night life in Kaohsiung. He started to get chatty and told us a lot of the sleazy night life in Kaohsiung. He also drove us to have a look at those places. Not going to go much into the juicy details but you can ask any of the taxi driver there :p

There is a price to pay after this sleazy tour. The Taxi ride cost a total of NT180!
