A really Budget Hotel at Bandar Sunway, Sun Inns Hotel near Sunway Lagoon and Sunway Pyramid

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Sun Inns hotel is a budget hotel nearby Sunway Pyramid and Sunway Lagoon. There are 2 branches there, Sun Inn Lagoon is nearer to Sunway pyramid and Sunway Lagoon while Sun Inns Mentari is opposite them which is about 15 minutes walk.

We chose Sun Inn Mentari as it looks newer and better than Sun In Lagoon on the website. I think this is the most budget hotel we ever tried before. This hotel is managed by Malay so interior design is also in malay style. Don’t like the decoration at all and the mirror faces the bed. I remove it when we sleep at night. One good thing about the location is that there are a lot of restaurant and Mcdonald is just opposite the hotel.

We paid for RM110 for an executive room with window. The room looks old but still acceptable as we only need a place to sleep and bath after the adventurous trip to Sunway Lagoon and shopping at Sunway Pyramid!!!

Eat and Play with the Famous Chicken Rice Ball in Malacca, Malaysia

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Some people will mistaken it as a fish ball but in actual fact, that is a rice ball! The rice is prepared with chicken stock and their secret recipe. Top it up with chicken meat and vegetables makes this a hearty meal.

Normal price for one rice ball is RM0.20. If you happen to pay more than that, better ask if you are over charge due to inflation! For a girl’s appetite, 5-6 rice balls will be enough. For guy maybe up to 12 or even more!

Again!! this is Rice ball..not Fish ball

Again!! this is Rice ball..not Fish ball. Can you imagine how soft is it?

Don’t miss out Baba Cendol at Jonker street and other great peranakan food in Malacca

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Why they call it as BABA cendol and not the usual name cendol? Because it is made by BABA and NYONYA? I think so. hehe. And Baba cendol uses thick gooey palm sugar (Gula Melaka) and coconut milk!! Price to enjoy this dessert? Only costs RM1.70! Other then Baba cendol, you can also order durian cendol and mango cendol too.

For main course, you can order the Baba Nyonya Laksa and curry mee there. All are super yummy!! (Drooling) ^_^

My favourite Baba cendolsss

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Jonker walk is one of the popular tourist attraction in Malacca. It is located at Jalan hang Jebat, across the Sungai Melaka (Malacca River). It is a night market and similar to 茨场街(Jalan Petaling) at Kuala Lumpur but it only opens on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. During day time, it is a busy street full of cars. A walk down the street and you can find some antique shops, souvenirs shop, and restaurants. No entry for cars from 6 pm to midnight on weekends and roadside stalls are setup by street vendors selling gift items, souvenirs and food!

Your choice of budget hotel in Malacca, Kuala Lumpur – Hallmark Hotel is one of ours

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

We stayed at Hallmark hotel! only RM100 per night for a double room. It is clean, safe and decent hotel for tourist! And the most important is its strategic location, at Jalan Kubu which is 5-10 mins walking distance to Jonker street. Wide space of car park are available there, so you do not worry about the parking problem!

The only weakness is the bad sound insulation. You might be able to hear some sounds..not made by the gh**t !! The noise comes from outside and you can easily hear your neighbor talking or maybe snoring.  Another thing is the mini LCD TV, no remote control provided. You can only change the channel by pressing the button beside the TV!=p

Again, It is only RM100 per night, so do n0t expect too much! hehe..Here are pictures of Hallmark Hotel

Some pictures of the shopping district at Bukit Bintang, Sungai Wang Plaza, 金河广场

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Sungai Wang Plaza is one of my favourite shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur!! Never miss this place whenever i go to Kuala Lumpur!! This mall is the most popular shopping center among the locals, especially those youngsters and hip-hop ones. The nearest Monorail station is ‘Bukit Bintang’.

For this 1 day shopping trip, we did not spent time at Time Square and Lot 10 this time as we were too tired by the time we finished the last floor of Sungai Wang. We bought like $300 worth of cloths!

Here are some pictures of the place we took around Bukit Bintang.

Eat till you drop around Bukit Bintang at Jalan Alor, a food paradise in Kuala lumpur

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Jalan Alor is one of the MUST go area to grab good local food in KL!! Hey, everywhere we recommend in this blog is must go.. hehe. Jalan Alor is a short walk away from those shopping malls in Bukit Bintang.  It is a normal street in the day time but it becomes a food paradise when the sun sets. All the food stalls are park all along the street and table and chairs are arranged nicely along the street.

You might be scare away by those hawkers when they try to persuade you to stop and eat their stalls. Some workers’ attitude might not be nice so you can just point your ?? finger at them or smile and walk away. Basically the menus of the foods stalls in that particular shop are on a same food menu. You can simply order the food from their ‘waiter’ base on the menu and they will help you to order whatever food from those stalls accordingly. No service charge required! hehe..
